Having an “Attitude of Excellence” is a concept that captivated me from the very first moment I wrote it on my idea pad. The more I looked at this simple combination of words, the more I was struck by the fact that this concept combines two words that are widely used individually to express behaviors that we say we want to pursue, but do not really pursue with vigor. We often talk about how “attitude determines altitude,” yet most of us do very little to actually grow our “attitude muscle.” Likewise, we hear people talk about excellence, yet it is a quality that often evades us.
